Neuro-Oncology Services
Adventist Hinsdale Hospital uses a multi-disciplinary team approach for the treatment of tumors of the brain and spine. The neuro-oncology team, comprised of neurosurgeons, neurologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiation physicists, neuroradiologists and neuropathologists, work together to optimize a treatment plan. Various combinations of surgery, radiosurgery, brachytherapy, external beam radiation, bone marrow transplant, chemotherapy and immunotherapy are components of an individualized treatment plan. When surgery is necessary, computer assisted navigation with advanced brain mapping and electrophysiologic monitoring is used to increase the safety and accuracy of the procedure.
