Donating Blood: Sponsor a Blood Drive

Any company, community organization, school, place of worship or individual may contact ALPS Blood Center to host a blood drive.

The first step in sponsoring a blood drive is to appoint a blood drive coordinator from your organization. This person will be the primary contact for ALPS Blood Center's Donor Recruiter.

The blood drive coordinator should contact the Blood Center as soon as possible to begin planning the drive. Call the Donor Recruiter at (630) 856-7837. The recruiter is available to answer questions, provide promotional ideas and walk your organization through the process.

Depending on your organization's needs and the number of donors you plan to recruit, you can either host a drive at the Blood Center or at an off-site location.

The only "cost" to your organization is the time you allow for employees to donate. Typically, the entire process (health history interview, donation, and refreshment) takes 30 minutes to 1 hour. The actual donation takes 5-10 minutes. Other options to make your blood drive more successful are T-shirts customized for your drive and special goodies for refreshments.
