Donating Blood: About the Blood Center

Mission Statement

The Adventist Lab Partners Blood Center is a department of professionals dedicated to giving our patients quality care with a Christian emphasis and treating our donors with respect and gratitude for their gracious gift of life to our community.

Message from the medical director

Donors are special people. The entire field of blood banking depends upon one person and one relatively simple act: a healthy person taking the time to share his or her own good health with others by giving blood. Only 3 to 5 % of people who are physically able to donate do so. This means that the entire blood supply of our country depends on the generosity and good will of about 6 million people. New and ongoing donor requirements keep on restricting our donor pool further and further. However with an increasing aging population, more patients surviving cancer and the utilization of life-saving operations such as open heart surgeries, the demand for blood is on the rise. Blood donors are very special people. The kind of people that through an altruistic act and 20 minutes of time can save up to three lives. Become one! Be special!Dr. Marisa Saint Martin
