Adventist GlenOaks Therapeutic Day School

The Adventist GlenOaks Therapeutic Day School is the only one of its kind in the area. It is a fully-accredited, completely self-contained school designed to meet the educational needs of students who require individualized, comprehensive, behavioral health treatment.

The Adventist GlenOaks Therapeutic Day School enables students, elementary through high school age, to earn their normal academic credits, while they address their therapeutic goals. The ultimate goal is to assist students in their development of self-awareness, confidence, and problem-solving strategies so they can re-enter their community schools.

Parents play a vital role at Adventist GlenOaks Therapeutic Day School. Their invaluable knowledge and insight into the emotional state of their child help the school staff meet its goals.

Curriculum

Core Curriculum is offered in math, science, english and history. Some electives that are offered may include photo-journalism, literature, drawing, advanced biology, child development, Spanish, and others which meet the interest of the students.

The curriculum is always flexible and versatile. It aims to meet the needs and wants of a wide variety of students.

The Adventist GlenOaks Therapeutic Day School is a member of the Chicago Area Alternative Education League (CAAEL). CAAEL is designed to give alternative school students the same opportunities in athletics and extra-curricular activities as regular education students. A variety of activities and sports are available to all students including:

  • Academic bowls
  • Basketball
  • Bowling
  • Chess Club
  • Flag football
  • Soccer (6-8 grades)
  • Softball
  • Volleyball

Additional school activities include:
