Each patient has the right to impartial access to medical care, treatment or accommodations that are available and medically indicated, regardless of race, creed, color, gender, national origin, religion, or physical ability.
AHS Midwest and all of its programs and activities are accessible to and useable by disabled persons. Access features include:
- Hospitality Services at Hospital entities
- Convenient off-street parking designated specifically for disabled persons
- Curb cuts and ramps between parking areas and buildings
- Level access into first floor, with elevator access to all other floors
- Automatic door openers for main entry access
- Fully accessible offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, public waiting areas, cafeteria, patient treatment areas, including examining rooms and patient units
- Drinking fountains accessible to individuals in wheelchairs
- Emergency warning systems that provide both auditory and visual signals
- TDD Numbers (for the hearing impaired and available at no cost to the patient)

Adventist Midwest Health (AHS Midwest) recognizes that culture and language have a considerable impact on how patients and their families access and respond to health care services. Free interpreter services and auxiliary aids are available for individuals with hearing impairment or who are unable to effectively communicate in English.
