As a part of Adventist Midwest Health, Chippewa Valley Hospital and Oakview Care Center brings a long tradition of Christian healthcare to Durand and the surrounding region. Located in rural Durand, Wisconsin, Chippewa Valley Hospital and Oakview Care Center is licensed for 25 acute care beds which are also approved as "swing beds" for long term care, and a 58 bed skilled nursing facility licensed for Medicaid and Medicare. The 47,900 square feet facility was constructed in 1983. Chippewa Valley Hospital is operated in the tradition of Adventist healthcare that recognizes that total health is achieved through the proper balance of physical, mental, social and spiritual well being.

Caring for the Community

Chippewa Valley Hospital serves a population of almost 16,000 people. In 1997, there were 600 inpatient admissions and over 9,500 outpatient visits. The community is served by four family practice physicians from two independent clinics, along with numerous visiting specialists. Chippewa Valley Hospital's Riverfront Health and Fitness Club provides trainers and fitness experts for their members. The city of Durand, with a population of 2000, is a beautiful wooded area located in West Central Wisconsin. Eau Claire, Wisconsin is 30 miles away and Rochester, Minnesota is only a short 65-mile drive away. While maintaining its small-town atmosphere, Chippewa Valley Hospital continues to grow as the area's third largest employer.
